The high electric fences intervention kit
An intervention kits of high electric fences are distributed to all regional units of the Slovenian Forest Service. They serve for the immediate protection of human property after the damage case and also the prevention of further damage.
Tree protective collars
The tree protective collars are used to prevent fruit trees from damages caused by the brown bear. The metal ring around the tree trunk prevents climbing and thus presents a physical barrier to the brown bear.
Raised level of the beehive
In order to protect the beehive, we can install it to a raised level, which represents a physical barrier to the brown bear. To prevent the access, the beehive must be raised at least 2.5 m from the ground.
Electro-doormats
As a measure to prevent bears from entering human structures or homes, electro-doormats have been used abroad effectively for many years. In Slovenia, we do not face the problem of bears entering the homes, so we want to test this prevention measure on the human property.
